The GOP had to file a complaint against Democrats for Obama who had not only set up their illegal operation too close to a polling place, but were bribing people to vote by giving out T-shirts and pizza. It's a toss-up State, I wonder what other kinds of crime they're committing, to get those votes?

The Colorado Republican Committee sent a letter to the Larimer County clerk alleging wrongdoing by campaigners for the Democratic Party during the first day of early voting on the CSU campus.

“Operatives for the Democratic Party, or for what appears to be the Obama campaign, had set up a table located right outside the Lory Student Center, which is where one of the early vote locations is,” Colorado GOP Chairman Ryan Call said.

the bribe i do wonder about. seems there was nothing saying you needed to vote for Obama. so unless they were saying you couldn't get a shirt or pizza for voting for Romney i don't see a huge issue. still something they shouldn't do though.

they should have known better on the footage though. its all over the windows..

but not a huge issue.

Your first definition isn't relevant because potential student-voters aren't "in a position of trust."

Actions falling under our second definition aren't crimes (unless you believe that parents who induce children to eat their vegetables by promising them a cookie for dessert should be arrested).

So tell me again why the GOP is upset? Is it because Republicans are so used to committing voter SUPPRESSION that anyone who tries to ENCOURAGE voting seems like a criminal to them?

They were set up too close to the polling place. I'd had to tell people to move signs etc. before.
1. go to vote, 2. get your free Obama T-shirt and 3. eat free pizza. It's illegal to pay people to go vote in Colorado. Is it a big deal ? Nope, but it is against the law.

They broke the law shira. It's hard for you to understand, but they broke the law. If this had been Republicans doing the same thing you'd be pissing your pants in faux outrage.

First off, the Lory student center is enormous-

CSU_rendering_main5.jpg

So the Dems may well have not have set up within 100 ft of the polling center inside. It has a lot of rooms, a lot of open space. Attempting to define the whole building as a polling place is dishonest. It's like declaring a giant shopping mall with a polling place inside as a "polling place".

Bribe people to vote? And they'd know which way those people voted how, exactly? Obviously, Repub student voters qualify for free pizza, too...

Repubs want younger people to *not vote*, so they'll cry foul whenever there's any encouragement at all....

In other words you have no fucking idea where they were set up and you think it's ok to give cool clothes and expensive food away to people for their vote? How cool is that?

I have no idea where they were set up, and neither do you. All you know is that your team called for the wahmbulance & you jumped onboard.

"For their vote"? There's no way to know which way students voted- Pro-Romney students like free pizza just as much as Obama supporters.

Put the shirt in the nearest trashcan & the pizza in your stomach. Yum! Thanks, mow-rons!

I certainly wouldn't want to interrupt your sobbing, but for the record, so far all you have are accusations they broke the law ... by partisan crybabies just like you. Further, as has been pointed out repeatedly -- and as you have ignored since it proves just how stupid your crying is -- the "bribes" (lulz) were offered without regard to how the students voted. It was simply an effort to encourage voting. It may well be this is technically a violation, but it is hardly a scandal.

But hey, rage on dearie. Don't let those big, bad Democrats keep you down. You seem to thrive on screeching about some of the dumbest, most petty partisan shit imaginable. You're rapidly catching up to Spidey as spokesman for the lunatic fringe.

Colo. Democrats try to bribe students to vote.
Good, I hope pizza and t-shirts help steal the election from Romney.

If that happens, I'll be making a sizable investment in Dominos during the summer of 2016.

Actually the place they were set up is shown in the video. You seem to be avoiding the fact that it was a Democratic organization that was breaking the law. Like I said it's not a big deal to me, but it is against the law and they got caught breaking it.

Somebody needs to tell the GOP that there's no such thing as bad publicity.

Once CSU students hear about the "complaint", I'm betting turnout is going to spike, even without pizza or t-shirts.

Mission accomplished.

That doesn't mean they were within 100 feet of the designated polling area inside the building, does it? What if the actual voting area isn't within 100 ft of where they set up?

So now you're trying to nitpick that they only broke 2 laws and not 3? What a Democrat. It depends on what your definition of is, is.

The official complaint is merely that they violated the law by being too close, and none other. They moved back when the county official asked them to do so. Problem solved. Outrage not found.
