No Product Key!

I don't know if i messed up or not here. I just put my new rig together and am loading up Windows XP home, well i can't find the product key! I bought the OEM version from Newegg and i can't seem to locate the product key anywhere...it's not in the package or on the booklet, what can i do? I have another windows xp home disc that is for my gateway computer, will that product key work? anyone please i'm so desperate here, i just want to play with my new comp. thanks.
 
damn it! i can't believe this. i opened the package at work like a week ago and i think i threw away the wrapping that was around the booklet....is there anything i can do, call micro soft or newegg? use a different product key from another windows xp?

It's the right answer though. My brother did the same thing :roll: and either Newegg or MS (I think it was MS) was able to get him a new product key.
 
Get a hold of Microsoft. I am sure they will help you. Do you have proof you bought it from NewEgg? a Receipt? Call MS. That is the only way.


I was shocked that dood posted his XP Home Key here.
 
LOL, call up microsoft they give away free keys all the time if you have a fairly legitimate reason. Also no, I do not take adavatage of this fact.
 
i got it guys thanks to every one that gave me positive advice. i haver another problem, check my other thread about not being able to get on the internet.
