just put together a system out of some old castoff parts. but when I went for the maiden voyage I couldnt get any power. case connections appear OK except that it gives 4 pins for HD LED and the case only has a 2 pin connector. I suppose I could have gotten a new case with a bad power supply but when I plug in the power cord and turn on the main cut off in the back I get lights on my keyboard. I suppose I could change the battery but I thought that only held CMOS settings so even if it was dead it shouldnt stop me from booting up.
anyway could I just jumper the power switch pins to see if its the switch or does it sound like something serious.
heres my specs and I know its mostly crap but otherwise it would just be taking up closet space
Kinpo KP61BB 440BX MB (old and cheap and along with the case its the only part that I've never used)
celeron 400 socket 370/slocket
128mb generic SDRAM
VooDoo 3 2000 agp
Western Digital 13.6gb 5400rpm
cheap win modem
cheap pci sound card
panasonic FDD
48x Pine cd-rom
I've got the new bios so the board will accept up to P3 600 but obviously cant get that far. Anybody thats even heard of that motherboard please let me know of your experience with it.
thanks
