No power (!)

OK, so this will sound dumb, but i've just out together my new system and i cannot get it to power up. All that happens is the green standby LED on the mobo comes on, no fans, nothing. I'm pretty sure everything is plugged in right, i've checked it over again and again. is there anything weird i should know about this motherboard and its ATX setup?
WTF is going on? any ideas?!

yeah, i checked that, and its as it should be in the manual
i even tested the switch on the case with an avometer, and its fine

Hmm, if the MB LED lights up, you're receiving power so it's not a dead PS. Don't understand why the fans don't turn though. Maybe the voltage selector is set wrongly.

Have you checked (or the possibility to check), if all power lines supply the power they should?
Perhaps the 12V Generator of the power supply is dead and the mainboard LEDs just light up because of the working 5V or 3.3V lines?
Is the PS strong enough? (But that should be no prob with Cel2 & GF2)
I'd try to test another PS...

yeah, its rated as 250w so it should be OK
but thats a good point about the 12v generator, i'll check that

yeah, the voltage is set correctly on the psu

Almost every VIA S370 motherboard has done this for me. If everything is in right, then its usually a matter of making sure the fsb was put on the correct settings.

On my A7V the case accidentily had the powerswitch in the "on" position when I plugged her in the first time. Moved the power switch cycled back to the off position, the powerswitch in the rear of the case switched to off, and then pulled the powercord. Plugged it back in and switched it on. It booted fine.
