I wish I had MANUAL windows; mine has broken twice. It's a pain to tell everyone "Don't roll down the window! It won't come back up unless I take the door apart!"

easy fix - disconnect the window switch ;)
Guess I'm lucky? My '93 has no trouble with the power locks or windows...

Actually... yeah, I have thought that to myself several times but am too lazy to actually do it even though it would take like 10 seconds. :p

Duct tape of over the switches. They'll get the message.

I like having manual friggen everything on my truck. Power steering, power breaks, and air conditioning is all you need.

Actually the truck I had before my current one didn't even have power breaks or steering. I had no problems driving it. Having a wonky AC sucked though :(

A/C????? what's that???

Just bought a 99 Wrangler as a beater/2nd car. It has manual locks and windows (glass). I'm getting power locks put in when I do the alarm. Having to remember to lock it everytime is a PITA. I'm used to my 04 TL or the 02 C230 I had before which had power friggin everything. Auto on and off headlights and auto wipers that detected the amount of water on the windshield and came on as needed and determined their speed based on how hard it was raining. I still miss that.

God I'm spoiled.

What happens if you get into an accident where you need to roll the window down but the motor isn't getting juice?

The doors are like that so you can remove them.

BTW, if you have a soft top you should just leave the thing open all the time. You'll just end up with a slit top otherwise.

Optional, I think.

I'd say that unless you were actually doing racing they'd be worth it.

I drive a town car, everything is powered. I'd actually prefer the forward-backward seat position be manual because all the powered setups are so slow.

I prefer them on the vehicles that I drive. I mean c'mon, what looks cooler than walking away with your hands in your pockets (oh yeah, 80's style) and pressing the button on your keyring thingy-ma-bob to lock your doors behind ya. Epitamy of cool right there :D.

Oh and sixone, you must have an odd keyring thing if you can confuse the trunk button. Although seeing how my mom's saturn's keyring thing is laid out, maybe I can see it (4 square buttons vs. my 4 buttons in a column... lock and unlock being bigger).

I've got a 2005 Dodge Dakota and it doesn't have power locks/windows. I don't mind using my key to get in or opening the door for my woman. Plus I don't have to worry about the motor going out or paying for a fix down the road.

Manual locks/windows FTW!

Edited. :p

Though poppers would be cool if the car was iced over, rather than trying to wrench on the handle.

Edit - What if it was a Dodge Caravan HEMI? :D

i keep a 1.5 inch "OH SH!T" knive clipped to my visor. pointy knive + safety glass = popped window. and should the need arise i can cut myself out of my seatbelt with it.

If I had a nickel for every time I accidentally hit the trunk button on my key fob, I'd be a rich woman. :(

My favorite is the timed headlights. They come on automatically when I start the engine, and shut off at a pre-set interval after the engine is shut off. No more forgetting. :)

Those annoy the crap out of me on my wife's car...
There are many times I want the engine running, but preferred not to have the headlights on.

just turn the dash lights off and the headlights should go off... or like mine, push the emergency brake in until the light shows on the dash and the headlights turn off. or, like my sis in laws chevy truck, the dome override will turn the auto headlights off. theres always a bypass for it, you just gotta find it for your car.

i dont have pwr windows or locks, but i did have actuators installed for the locks so my alarm can lock/ unlock the doors. not too expensive, and definitely worth it.
