No post, no beep, no display

I tried clearing the COMS and reseating the RAM in different slots etc and disconnected my PCI sound card and such but so far no luck...

Any suggestions? 🙁

what happened prior to this? do the fans spin up? you can try reseating the cpu and video card, also try dry mounting everything outside of the case with only cpu/ram/video card and see if it posts. what are the specs of the system that doesnt post? do you have a pc speaker that you can connect to see if it gives any beep codes?

the fans all spin up, what do you mean by drymounting? The system is an AMD XP2400 with a Aopen ak77-600 mobo with 1gb pc2700 RAM and a ATi9800pro. THe PC speaker is connected I believe but yeah I was listening for beeps but nada

what happens after the fans spin up... the system just turns off or do the fans keep spinning with no POST?

try a different video card if you can. this ahppend to my system and i just used a different video card

i took out the video card when trying to boot and still no beeps... then I tried booting without a CPU and still no beeps.

looks like a fried mobo, try changing it.

Did I read that right? You took the video card out while the comp was trying to boot? Or took the video card out, then tried to boot?

Probably cpu or mobo. You need to have the cpu seated at power up. Test those components if you can in another system.

if you take the cpu, ram, or video card out of the system, turn it on and the pc speaker is connected, it will give some kind of beeping for an error code, if you get nothing when you take them out it is either your speaker is not connected or not connected to the speaker pins, or more likely something motherboard related, i call it drymounting, its really taking the mobo, cpu, ram, video, etc. and putting it on antistatic bags or on mouse pads, etc. outside of the case to eliminate the chance of grounding problems. but since yours worked originally i doubt it grounded out while nothing changed.

BTW: your powersupply does work properly right? it delivers all of the voltages, or it powers up a working set of components? another reason there could be no beeps is because their is no proper voltages going that would get it to start the post.
