I just plugged in my new graphics card, a 6800 GT and no picture ever comes on screen. The monitor is on, the card is firmly seated and I have enough power to run the card but no picture shows up. Can anyone help?

My new power supply works fine, there's no switch on the back that lets me change the voltages though so that can't be the problem.

All I can suggest is to try it in another computer.
If it still doesn't work...problem solved.

I only have 1 computer. Could it have to do with a new power supply or new RAM? Those are the only 2 things I added/changes since my last working configuration.

And my monitor is always left on, the light is orange first then when I used to turn my pc on it would flick to green. With this new card it never goes green. Usually you would expect it to go orange green and then orange again if something was wrong but in this case it just stays orange.

I put in an old Geforce 2 and it did the same thing. There never used to be anything wrong with my mobo, so how could there be now?

I just tried clearing the cmos battery and that didn't help either. What is the likelihood that I damaged my AGP slot when putting in the new card?

To recap, I don't know if it's my power supply or not. Tried resetting cmos, no good. Card is seated firmly and connected to PSU.

Do any diagnostic LEDs light up on the motherboard?

Also, what computer are you posting from if you only have one and the GPU is shot?

No I don't see any LED's on the motherboard. I'm posting all this from my father's macintosh.

I think I know what the problem is! The FSB jumper is still on 166 and the new memory is 200. Could that cause it? I tried to reset it but I can't find it. I'm looking online for the PDF manual of my motherboard but the Soltek site won't load. Can anyone go to soltek's site and look for the manual for a SL-75FRN2-L?

Unlikely, as ram can usually run at lower rated speeds without problems. Get your old parts, like the psu and ram, and see if the system works fine. Upgrading multiple components at a time, is usually not a good idea. Do it one at a time.

Everything else spins up, drives, fans and everything. I doubt it's the PSU. I'll try putting in the old memory.

Yeah, unless someone's power supply is really low quality, hes doing some serious overclocking, or powering more than one really power hungry component, the PSU usually isnt to blame. Just try seeing if your old setup still works, then replace one item at a time until you encounter problems.

Wait, did your entire work fine just before upgrading to the 6800gt, or were multiple upgrades done?

Everything worked fine before adding the memory, graphics card and I put a new HS/Fan on my cpu. I just tried the old memory and nothing changed.

Nothing changed, meaning that it works with your old memory?
