A pretty handy thing to have if you went cellular only at home.

http://www.intellifax.com There is also Jfax.com for a free incoming fax number ..... Anyone know of anything cheaper? I would love to know of a service that only charges on a per use basis, rahter than requiring a monthly fee.

My point exactly Rossman ..... I was signed up with Efax and Jfax, but I had to pay 12.95 a month for something I used once every other month. I would love to know if anyone has found any other great email to fax services that allow attachments.

Looks like a potentional snag for me. "Send attachments as HTML, MS word, or PDF....." I mostly am scanning to Tiff or Jpeg. Is there a program that saves to .PDF other than buying ADOBE ACROBAT? I gues I cold paste the image to a MS word file.

You can convert any document you can print to pdf with pdf995 and it is free.
So this sounds like a good deal. Useful even if you have a phone line but have to send faxes during day hours and
have a long distance call.

Folks,

I use eFax, and am paying about $10.00/mo, last time I looked. This is perfect for me, as I travel all over the world for work. Anyone can fax me, anywhere, anytime, and it shows up in my in-box. Icing on the cake?: If you really dig around on the eFax application/setup screen, you can get a toll-free fax number for the same monthly rate, so your user's don't even have to dial long-distance to send you a fax. Sweet service. :)

no, it is 7 cents or $0.07

Just a typo... I didn't even realize it at first, but I knew what NICKel meant.

Looks like a good deal... I will use my free efax number for incoming faxes and intellifax for outgoing...

I have used eFax to receive for free (now use work fax) but can use my Kyocera 6035 as a modem to send directly from my computer.

The deal is great if it's what is says it is and lasts. ;)

I use cell only but have a land line at the residence I am at...once I find a decent place in my area I will have only cell and DSL so this will be great! Faxing is the only thing still in place that needs a land line...I predict in 5 years faxing will be obsolete.

<FONT face=Verdana>Credit for outbound faxing is billed in advance in $25.00 increments. Billing is in six-second increments, with a one-minute minimum per fax. </FONT>
.. looks like 7 cents per minute, but you have to start with $25.00 or about six hours of faxing. at 3 minutes per fax, that is about 120 faxes

I just received a SPAM from eFax, you can get this service for free, but the phone number is not local, thus, if your neighbor wants to send you a FAX they must call long distance. The good news, sending faxes is entirely free. Here is the link to the eFax free sign up page:

Good luck!

Are you sure you send for free? I just checked out the link and it looks like it's only for receiveing.
