I got 2% but frankly I'm happy I still have a job. I would've taken 0%.

Once the economy gets tracked again? Yeah, 2% is not going to do it...

Yes obviously your type of performance is not going to guarantee you a pay raise. What did you expect? Tough times. Work extra hard and maybe you'll get it.

Time to go find another job and get a big pay raise. And when you turn in your resignation you'll get that wonderful feeling when you tell them "it's because you didn't give me a raise this year, that's the only reason. I must move my career forward."

I got a 5% pay cut at the beginning of this year and I'd wager its more likely that flying monkeys will be my new form of commuting than it is anyone will be getting raises here.

Honestly I would have been happy with no pay raise this year. Everyone that was salaried in my company took a 10% pay cut back in April and it will last until probably December at the very earliest. I had gotten a pitiful 2.7% raise a few weeks before (most people got <2%) and had only gotten a single paycheck before the pay cut took effect. Now I highly doubt I'll be getting anything this coming year. On top of that I became eligible for 50% match on my 401k. After 2 pay periods of that they reduced it to 25% match until the economy improves.

Every other company in our industry has been doing layoffs. There haven't been any large layoffs at my company yet but this is getting a bit ridiculous with the paycuts and things.

I didn't get a raise this year, and had to take a weeks furlough (lost well into 4 digits worth of pay) this year.

I am super pissed off at that.

When will it be OK to blame Obama (and stop blaming Bush) for this mess?

I do not understand this stuff... Why do people always "Well I have a job still" quote this crap. If you are good at what you do a MAKE a difference then people will recognize it. If you work at a helpdesk, fast food joint, construction or any place that requires low skill labor then it is a different story.

I am just sick and tired of people thinking this is the way it is. I would never ever think to myself that I am lucky, in fact it is the other way. The company should be lucky to have you. Obviously for those not making a difference and just doing what is needed will not feel this way.
