Tribes2 was a fantastic game..... until they patched it with a lag-prone crappy patch and then fired the entire development team leaving the fans stranded with a reminder of a once good game. Yes, I'm bitter.

Tribes2 is one of the best games ever made..it's online only..(free to play though!) Imagine Quake3, outside, and with lots more strategy..it's almost a combo of FPS and RTS. Tribes 1 was great as well....and yes, T2 has had some hard times, but it's still an excellent game. And with a new patch lined up with the orginal developers of Tribes, it's going to finally be stable..

this is a hot deal....

I just got the NOLF for $9.99. It is the Game of the Year Edition and even includes strategy guide and a music CD. Great buy.

NOLF is available free for download now, as the company released the source code. Try compiling it yourself, if you're a CS major. :D

The sourcecode only is the sourcecode which is only about 5.5MB. It doesn't include the graphics and such to remake this game.

Great deal, I'll get NOLF. Bought T2 for $29 right near release, and I love it. I still play it about 20 hrs a week.

I got a couple of questions about this deal for anyone who wants to take the time to answer them. First of all, I don't live all that close to a CompUSA, so I was wondering, do you think I will be able to pricematch at BB even though it is an instant rebate? Also, is a crappy 56k connection enough to play this game (Tribes 2 of course)? If not, can I play it on a home network? I got 3 computers networked at my house, I dunno if that's enough to play this game or what. If I can do that this sounds like a great deal! Thanks!

Does anyone here ever download full blown games online? For test and evaluation only of course ;)

I picked up NOLF today, and passed on T2.

You can't play T2 natively on Linux by buying this version right? You'd have to buy Loki's retail port?

Just a warning, my NOLF doesn't seem to work with Windows 2000 (like they claim to)or XP. I even did a fresh install of W2k and then try it, it wouldn't run (not even in Compatibility mode). Mine isn't the Game of the Year Edition, however. I bought it when it first came out. Might be different now, or I'm just not that lucky. Just a heads up.
