No, no, no, it's not a heart attack.

chest was bothering me... I was pretty certain it was my stomach. It got progressively worse throughout the day and in the middle of watching the high school football game, off to the ER I was dragged. Ughhh... 30 seconds after arriving, they were sticking needles into me, shaving my chest, hooking me up for an EKG, running chest x-rays, blood tests, etc.

The results? I'm the model of perfect health, except for my stomach.

Gallbladder trouble can make your chest feel like hell (center chest). Could cause severe heartburn also.

Yeah, I think it's prevacid. I got to enjoy a GI cocktail while I was there... Some sort of maalox or something with viscous novacaine (or some sort of -caine), and something to stop the GI juices for a while (belladonna?)

I had something similar happen many years back. My neck hurt, my left arm was numb and it was 2 am in the morning. I hauled myself the the ER and after several hours of testing they found my heart was fine but I had broken my neck and had a compressed disc in my neck.

Whew! What a relief. :)

LOL, don't feel bad, I know physicians that have done the exact same thing when they developed reflux.

the top sphincter of your stomach is a little loose to begin with, I think it's an evolutionary thing so we could puke up poison/rancid stuff and survive, now we just live long enough so it loosens up as we age & you develop reflux.

It's important to treat it so you don't develop strictures (scar tissue bands) in your esophagus when you're really old & food starts hanging up on scar tissue when you swallow. Then you have to go to the hospital & have a GI doctor punch the food, usually meat on through into your stomach.
