Agreed. I think I've been to Lowes about 5 times in the past 2 weeks, and have spent over $250 :). I'm typically a big electronics guy, but I don't mind spending money on shit for the house. My best deal in my purchases of the last two weeks has definitely been the 4-cycle straight shaft Troy-Bilt trimmer that I bought for $82. It was last year's model, and on clearance at most local Lowes stores for $124, down from $169. After a bit of online snooping, I found one particular Lowes that was pretty close that had it for $82 for some reason. Online is a great way to find good deals, since a lot of products at Lowes are priced differently at each store.

I've also picked up a couple of gallons of paint for the house and new porch swing, a new water hose, new reel housing for said hose, and a few more things for the garden.

Ended up picking up 5x5 blocks in a contrasting color to serve as a border... adds another 20+ sq ft to the patio. I have a feeling that this is going to be a difficult, but fun, project.
I'll start posting before/during/after pictures soon.

Don't know why but I find it amusing that money saved up to buy a DSLR ended up paying for bricks... :)

Homeowning and kids makes you do funny things with money.

I could lease a 7 series BMW for what I pay in daycare a month. I could have $1500 saved up for a new HDTV but if the lawmower goes up in flames or the fridge craps out then I'm shopping in the less fun section of Sears.

:(

Kids suck.

Michael Jackson can vouch for that.

I'd love to find bricks at $.25 a piece. Looking to have a 10x15 slab poured in front of my workshop and then a 3 foot sidewalk around the one side and back of it so I can move some stuff to the outside of it like my storm shutters, lawn tools, and air compressor.

4 cubic yards of concrete delivered is about $400...

I am debating 24x24 pavers as well for the slabs...I can find them for about $5 a piece. The workshop is 14x16. I will need about 50 or so of them.
