Obama said this just now in his speech in PA after some of his supporters started to boo one of the McCain policies that he was talking about.

Wow - how come we don't hear this at republican rallies?

He defended Obama with "He's not an Arab! He's a good person!"... wtf is that supposed to mean exactly.

It means two things actually.

1. Barack Obama is not an Arab.
2. John McCain thinks that Barack Obama is a good person.

Defending booing vs. defending the disgusting commentary we've heard at McCain rallies are very different.

McCain is just stuck in a tough spot.

When you're down like he is your only choice is to attack and tear down your opponent. He has come out and defended Obama several times, it's just hard to do because basically you have to, in the course of the same speech, talk about why Obama is a good person and then talk about why Obama is a bad person.

Yup. His own supporters are undermining his message.

Don't you have some self loathing to do? Or tending to your other internet personas?

well we know Obama isn't Arabic... so I'm guessing you are saying you think it is bullshit McCain thinks Obama is a good person?
Hmm. So, you know McCain very well then, eh? Like, good buddies?
You can be political enemies and still think your opponent is a good person. Just because you differ greatly in political ideals does not mean you cannot be reasonable. I'd say both McCain and Obama think the other guy is a good man in daily life, and from my viewpoint, they both stand for some great things, just how they politically perform in regards to those ideals they stand for is different.

One just has empty promises with no honest detailed plan to go about the things he stands for, while the other actually has reasonable and achievable political goals.

I can take one more week of John McCain's attacks, but this country can't take four more years of the same old politics and the same failed policies. It's time for something new. -Obama

Trying to say that this statement proves McCain believes that the terms "Arab" and "good person" are exact opposites is a ridiculous stretch. Grow up and take the high road instead of wallowing around in the mud like the GOP supporters you claim are so uncivilized.

I'm not saying that he believes it - however many of the supporters in his base and the woman who asked that question in particular clearly did and do and thus far his campaign has played to those irrational, bigoted fears.

I think this string of quotes is a hilarious result of missed sarcasm in JD50p's first response. keep up the good work, guys.
