No MP on 360 of PS3 for Force Unleashed, only on Wii, PSP and DS

LucasArts has announced that there will be no multiplayer in the 360 or PS3 version of TFU, but (because?) there will be in the DS, Wii and PSP versions.

"To be specific, there's no multiplayer in the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 versions, because there is on the Wii, PSP, and DS. As far as specific reasons are concerned, we don't really like to get into the reasons why we don't do things because I don't think there's really a satisfactory answer that people would really be happy with. So, there isn't multiplayer and that's kind of how it is..."

That's kind of how it is.

The joys of developing for 6 systems I suppose (Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, DS, PSP).

I think the Wii version is local multi-player only.

So in order to get the "full experience" you have to own two consoles (one 360/PS3 and one Wii/DS/PSP) and buy the game twice.

Genius! That effectively doubles the amount of money they get! Assuming, of course, that everyone decides that they want the "complete TFU experience."

Wii also gets two more levels. I love owning the best console the planet has ever seen.

wtf does you owning a SNES have to do w/this thread? 😕

I have to agree with you on that, SNES was the best system. I miss Killer Instinct. I should have said best system within the last 5 years.

Multiplayer could be really fun on this game 🙁

It's just one-on-one lightsaber duel on the Wii. No biggie.

What would you want for MP on the 360 or PS3? The standard lame-o, tacked-on DM, TDM and CTF?

EDIT:
This has been known for a while. It's just that Lucasarts won't give a good reason.

Anywho, I'm double dipping on this one; Wii60 owner, here.

BFD, having a bunch of kids who's voices haven't even changed yet, trying to sound like Vader while we throw down would cause me to laugh convulsively anyways. Worse yet, some would have the helmet my kid bought on, adding to the hilarity.

Just let me run amok destroying everything and everyone in sight with uberforce powers, you get my money.

As to the Wii version, I have vision of the star wars kid every time someone mentions it, 😛

They must be assuming that they'll sell more on the Wii than any of the others. That's reasonable, I guess. The Wii has outsold the competition every month, right? Or maybe I'm wrong, I haven't been keeping up with those numbers. In any case, the Wii has outsold the other two consoles in total sales.

Maybe it's easier to program basic local multiplayer for the Wii? I don't know. There could be any number of reasons for this.

Is the Wii version going to have the layered physics systems that the PS3 and 360 versions have?
