My descriptions of being quiet and reserved only refer to being a self-conscious person. Being self-conscious in life can be horrid. Especially if you're quiet, because you won't talk to people, but you'll think that they're thinking not-so-nice things about you. Just like with Fat Bastard, it's a vicious cycle!

Maybe you should do what they do in China, 10 minutes of forced laughing.

you could probably find about 20 threads about why. mainly because of my boss though. he's such a dick. i'm also very tired of tech support. i can't stand it anymore.

i also have no clue what i want to do with my life either. i can't even figure out what i might want to do so that i could go back to school for it.

I'm a bit curious why you think a girl is going to help? What exactly is she going to do? I can understand why people think females help as they believe they're just lonely. I thought that was the truth for awhile, but I realized after getting a girlfriend that I wasn't right. I highly doubt loneliness is the issue. Look at what happened, the condition put you into a state of loneliness... a state of reduced caring.... It's like A caused B, and you're just trying to fix B thinking A will go away.

i think loneliness might have a good bit to do with my situation. not necessarily not having a girl, but just friends in general. i have one good friend that i'm lucky to see/hang out with once a month. we talk on the phone or through email more often though.

but still thats it. i have work "friends" but i really don't have anything in common with any of them.

There actually is a bit of study into believing that certain diets can affect your mood, even some foods that can make you feel more or less depressed. I don't know how valid these claims are, but I've heard about 'em from the parental control unit.

Pont, you'll more than likely follow the same course as me. I believed that it was purely loneliness, because that made sense. But after attempting a "cure" for that problem, nothing really changed. A caused B, fixing B doesn't make A go away nor does it make it so that B won't just come back again. Maybe I'll write up something detailed about this to help explain what I mean.

This is very true. Are you getting regular, sufficient exercise?

Try it for one week, I think you'll be surprised. It really does help clear your head.

nothing wrong with reading

Reading blows and you can blame the public education system for forcing crappy books on me as a child. Sorry, but I could care less about the Wilders in the book Farmer Boy. For every book they made me read that I didn't enjoy, I hated reading just that much more. Now I still do buy books, but I don't really read them...

I still have iWoz sitting on my shelf and just purchased Darkly Dreaming Dexter (although I've seen the TV show).

Another vote for exercising. Great for stress relief. Also gives you more energy = more enthusiasm. Not to mention the positive effect a good physique has on one's sex life (or is it the other way around?) ;)

how do you force someone to laugh for 10 minutes?

Find a spot, belt some HAs out. I didn't say it was a natural thing. Laughing seems to improve a mood. Fake or not.

I can't seem to bring myself to do anything but read or browse/post on ATOT. If I do use any of the above mentioned things, its for a short period.

i haven't even touched my camera in weeks. i just don't seem to have any interest in anything.

come snuggle up with me, I will make you feel better
