As of tomorrow, I will not be able to continue with the SETI@home project. My money problems (because of not being able to find a job) have snowballed to a point that has left me but no choice but to quit.

I just wanted you all to know that you all have been good friends.

Goodbye...

Dasm, Matt. 🙁

So sorry to hear that. I hope you can get your money problems straightened out. Will certainly miss you.

Let us know if there is anything we can do.

Take care,
Dennis

Ditto, except I'm CADkindaGUY - not some old guy who's name is Dennis 😉😛

Really sorry to hear this, Wolfie. 🙁

Do what you have to do. Remember it is always darkest before the dawn. 😉

Hang in there, partner.

This calls for some action and some sound advice. Wolfie, don't rule out declaring bankruptcy. From what I hear, it is actually the better choice in a lot of situations. Talk with a free credit/debt counselling service, listen to their advice and keep your options open.

🙁

Sorry to hear about your money problems Matt. I really hope everything will work out for you...and the countless others who have lost their jobs here.....makes me appreciate my "overworked" and "overstressed" job.....Good Luck.

I am in the same boat. I have not worked for over a year. It is not that hard to dip into your 401k if you have one. Mine was losing value so bad I did it.

Sorry to hear this Matt, but I agree with the others - trim where you need to.

I wish you lived in my area - there are jobs to be found.. sometimes it just takes knowing the people who actually do the hiring.

I hate to hear of your toubles!

Seti will be here when the time comes that you can return, and of course we will always be here!

Hang in there.

I too am sorry to hear about you situation Matt, keep your chin up and think positive, we'll be here when you are able to come back. Best of luck to you.

Man, I hear you. I'm still looking after 3 months, and things don't look much better. But hang in there. I figure it's got to change at some point.....

🙂

I'm sorry to hear that, I hope it doesn't mean that you'll be leaving TA and the forums completely though, even if it means you can only drop by once in a while.

Sorry to hear your having to quit 🙁
Hope you can find another way to pull through. I had to sweat some bullets, but I managed to pull through. Hope you can also without having to much trouble.

We understand Matt.

Like everyone said take care of what needs taking care of and don't be a stranger.

Also don't be shy and use every means possible. I looked at your web page listed in your profile, I didn't see a link to your current Resume. I would update that and post on the Networking for the Unemployed Threads both here and at the top of Off Topic.
List yourself as a Computer Consultant and I will add your link to my DSL Modems web page area of Online Web friends, it couldn't hurt.

Amen to that, Robert! Ditto from me.

I hope you find another job soon too!

Sorry about your situation, Matt. It's one that's going on all to frequently these days. 🙁

That said, once a TeAmmate always a TeAmmate. We'll be here when you're ready to return. Best of luck in turning around your financial situation. 🙂
