Here is what I received from a friend. Both of us don't have Nokia cell phone so there is no way I can test it.
But here you go:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Guys,
No more lost licenses, speeding fines, go speed racer go. Your Nokia cell phone can be programmed to pick up radar speed traps, when programmed your cell phone picks up the radar and alerts you on the message alert tone.
Ø Steps:
1. Enter your menu
2. select settings
3. select security settings
4. select closed user group
5. select on
6. enter 00000
7. press ok
8. clear back to normal , within a few seconds your phone will display a radar sign with five zero's next to it. It is now activated.
Ø Unfortunately only Nokia phones have this function.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If you tested this method, please let the public know the result :) BTW, I'm not responsible for any results, don't blame me if it did any harm to you cell phone.

Why do I have this feeling that doing this is like the old hit Alt F4 trick??

I wouldn't try this personally, may wipe out your list of #'s.

You don't have to enter 00000, you can enter any number. I entered 50 and get the radar symbol and 50 on the display. But I'm sure it doesn't work. (I have a Nokia 6110)

Please let me know if this works! Radar detectors are illegal in my area; nokia phones are not.

There is no "Closed User Group" on my Nokia 6185 phone that I can see. I'm curious to see what it does though. :)

This will allow people to use your service and stick you with the bill. Don't do it.

Speaking of nokias though, does anyone know the number of the Matrix style phone. The one that you press a key and the keygaurd slides down instead of flips? I have only seen the silver/chrome one but it looked cool.

Skoorb,

have you checked the specs of both phone & radar units, to see if the phone will respond to the frequency of the radar units ?

If I am correct all this does is change the password for the closed user group to '00000' So someone can sit out there and scan for cells with that password.

The Matrix phone is NOT an 8xxx series. There are the 7xxx series AKA the "Banana Phone". They only operate on GSM frequencies not used in the US.
