Safeway Select frozen food >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Banquet/Totino's/etc.

High quality stuff with much less bad stuff like preservatives. Also SO CHEAP! Some of these things are like 10c/oz...

Sounds good, though I am not familiar with the following places/brands/terms:
Vons
Safeway Select
"one fiddy"
Rubios

I'm from Cleveland....what part of the country is this deal available?

Maybe this is a west coast thing.

Hmm..

I figured rubios would be bigger but guess not.

I'm originally from southern california and rubios is big there. they make baja mexico style food, so I guess its very california-ish. basically they sell burritos and tacos and such and beer battered tacos.

Safeway is a supermarket chain in northerncalifornia, In socal is called "vons" , but they are the same company (i use my socal vons club card at safeway in nor cal)

So safeway select is their store brand food.

QFT...I dinner and you are twice your daily limit... You might be better of eating Ramen with veggies with half the seasoning...

While you are here take a look at the OPs photography link. His work is truly outstanding.

I quite agree.
Companionship made me laugh when thoughts of life's supehighway struck me in contrast.

RE: Vons
Safeway Inc. trades as Randall?s Food & Drug and Tom Thumb at 124 locations in TX.
Please, someone check the OP's info at a Randall's as I'm not in Houston this week but am able to capitalize on this via ld.
Let us transplanted Texans know.

Thanks a lot! 🙂

I thought I was among the very few, if not the only one, who cared about photography links. I was right . . about the "very few" part. 🙂

Good work, OP.

never seen a vons in cali
we do have safeway though
safeway select store brand food tends to be higher quality store brand food unlike stuff at savemart or luckys/albertsons. so it tends to be at the very least just as good.

Banquet meals are also pretty well priced, not for the healthy lifestyler of course.
Two words... HOT POCKET! 😀

Hot Pocket time saving instructions!

1) Unwrap Hot Pocket.

2) Drop directly in toilet.

Not great, but edible for 59 cent.

They also had pot pies for $0.37 and buy 5 get 1 free too whic made it even cheaper.\\I got 20 of them.

Pot pies are pretty good actually.

basically i got 3 weeks food for $20.00

Oh yeah i worked for Safeway 23 years ago as a bagger when i was 16, actually a pretty good company, they paid better than other stores, and had good benefits.

Safetway was the largest Grocery store chain in the world, I don't know if they are anymore though.

there in like 50 countries, or were.

Walmart is the largest grocery chain in the world now.

I agree. I stay away from frozen dinner altogether. I dont want to heighten my risk of heart disease later in life.

seriously.

This isn't a health thread. The fitness and health forum is --> that way.

This is about cheap food for people on the go like grad students too lazy to cook all the time 😉

For me I need more than the avg daily intake of sodium because I exercise and sweat a lot...

can i get them from Safeway? I mean, safeway select is a safeway brand

You just answered your own question.

Safeway, Vons, Randalls and a few other places if I'm not mistaken. Obviously you don't want to eat frozen food all the time but infrequently it's good for the lazy man (or woman) 🙂

I went to Safeway yesterday to check this out. They had them there, but they were 4.99 a pop (still a decent deal for 32oz, or w/e it is).

My roommate and I ate the whole thing, but even then, only $5 for a meal for 2.
