I haven't paid PMi in like 10 years. It drove me nuts having to pay it. Rubs me the wrong way. Now I buy everything with cash anyway so it's never an issue again.
 
PMI was recently cancelled on my townhouse too .. wooohoo

Though it's on the market for sale, and I may not get enough from it to cover 20% down on the new house that I want .... so .. I may again be paying PMI (ok, actually a second loan at a higher interest rate .... )
