RMA'd 2 Explorer mice to Microsoft and got 2 Intellimouse optical mice in the mail. Thinking that they screwed up I called them up but was told "We are not shipping them anymore so we sent you the next mouse up the scale" Took one out of the box but its crap compared to my old Explorer in my opinion.

Its almost like sending back a 60 gig HD back and them sending back a 45 gig.

UPDATE: Guess I just got a moron CSR because I called back and got another one and I'm getting the proper mice after all. Now I have 4 optical mice also cause they don't want the others back.

yes it does ... well, I have an explorer mouse (optical) too. I sent it back like 3 times now because the stupid wire on the front keeps coming loose. Apparently, when they made the mouse, the cheaped out on insulation on the front end wire (so it comes out easliy). Maybe the cheaped out on other stuff too ... and its not worth it to make anymore ??? :p

I have constantly gone Logitech and I have hardly ever seen anything bad go wrong in these forums about the Logitechs. Apart from maybe how do I switch the Blue logo off on the Optical Mouseman Corded.

In the past I ahve used MS and they sucked so much that I just got rid of them and got full Logitechs everywhere.

And no I am not a Logitech spokesperson or anything, this all comes from personal experience.

Oh I know :) Gave them really good ratings on the support process but just a very low one overall. I think I phoned them 3 times and I wasn't on hold over 3 minutes total so I can't complain there.

True... I was ever once held for about 20 mins max by some company which was really annoying, but most of the time I get answered straight after the welcome and all that recorded messages.

I hate my stupid Logitech mouse in Win2K. I have a cordless Mouseman Wheel and it worked fine in 98SE, but when I upgraded to Win2K that is the one singular thing that didn't work out as well or better in 2K. I can either have no software installed for it and not have any use of the thumb button and not have the wheel button able to be set to what I want (backspace), but the wheel works in games and 2 buttons are recognized at once, or I can install Mouseware and lose functionality of the wheel in a lot of games and have it not aknowledge more than one button being pressed at a time.

Also, lately it's been losing accuracy (yes, I keep it quite clean). I'll chalk that up to it being nearly 2 years old though, so I'm not blaming them about that.

Even though I'm very satisfied with the physical part of the Logitech mouse, and I'm sure it's of higher quality than a microsoft mouse my next mouse is going to be a Microsoft one because I'm pretty sure theirs actually work properly with Win2K. :|

The mosue is great, I have it and its my third one, the second was rma'd and so was the 1st. Last time I called about a month ago they told me they weren't amking them anymore and its luck of the draw whether I get one. I don't understand, if everyone likes them, why stop making them. I mean they are all rma'd for the same reason and they could fix it easy.

are you talking about the MS mice that are ambidextrous, have 4 buttons and a scroll wheel, and have the optical sensor?

if so, I'd be interested on buying it from u!

I'm not sure why so many people are having problems with the IntelliMouse Explorer. I've owned several of them (using 3 of them on various configurations right now) and I've never had the slightest issue with them...

I think they're the best "regular" mouse out there. The optical is really nice, too.
