Im a few years ahead of you, and i can tell you.....you have yet begun the path to medical school hell. It only begins when you start 1st year medical school. After classes are done, you have rotations, then you become an intern, then you become a resident, a newbie doc if you will. Its a good 10 years before you become respected as an attending.

I know. I come from a family of doctors, and I work in a hospital currently as a Nursing Assisstant.

*If you don't care, don't read. It's as easy as that :) *

Medicine and friends are more important. I've decided to part ways with my significant other. I'm in the early stages of medicine, and I know it's only going to get harder. If I'm tied down, I have no time to see my friends outside of the hospital or school. She's ok with it, she knows that one way or another we would slowly drift apart, as medicine in the most important thing in my life. Better to do it now than later. I'm happy and sad at the same time...it's such a confusing state of mind.

Friends are more important? Wow. I guess you did make the right decision. If your friends are more important to you than your SO then you had a messed relationship or you just didn't love her. At least you didn't waste the time trying to make it work.

Or I realized that I'm still incredibly young, and I want to make the most out of my life before I settle down. It has nothing to do with rather I love her or not, and you're not really qualified to make that determination. It's that I'm young, and I'm not ready to move to another state to make it work.

Bah, you're still too young to realize what you want from a relationship or life. Get back to me after you turn 30, then we'll talk.

I guess I should add that she's still a "buddy" until July when she moves up to Indiana....without me. And no pics, I don't want to lose "buddy privileges."

Pics?

Just want them so I can spot her on campus.;)
I would like a topless pic too so I can recognize her at the bars. :D

I want a naked picture to see what she looks like when I kick her out of my apartment after I hit it and quit it.

Dr. Cox: You know I just, uh, I just got off the phone with Jordan, who told me that my son rolled over for the first time....

Elliot: [jumping and giggling excitedly] Oh, my God! That's so great!

He mimics her excitement for a moment, then straightens.

Dr. Cox: Big who cares! Not about Jack rolling over for the first time, but definitely about your reaction to my son rolling over for the first time. Point being that I missed it because I was here. You might want to get a pen out and write this down, because here comes the inside scoop: The hospital comes first. Always.

Elliot: Always?

Dr. Cox: Forever and ever.

He starts to move off down the hall.

Dr. Cox: D'aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand everandeverandeverandever -- You gettin' this? -- Aaaand everandeverandeverandeveraneverandever....

BTW, congrats on being mature enough to make a tough decision, rather than having the decision made for you. GL to both you and the girlfriend.

Really? rumor has it that you are not a physician. that you're 18 and is not even studying medicine.

And that you are former user(s)known as gyrene, aka dtyn.

I won't say I know exactly what you are going through, but I can understand it - My girlfriend and I just broke up after being together for a year and a half. Not because anything bad happened, or we had some huge fight. She is graduating this summer (in a week or so, actually), and is then going to move down to Atlanta (from St. Louis) to live with her family until she can find a job and get out on her own. I, on the other hand, still have a semester to go here at school, so I'm stuck. :(

I've never claimed to be a physician, and have, from the start, said that I was a ER Tech, recently switched to a Nursing Assisstant, and have a documented major in Biochemistry. I happen to, now, be 20. Rumors are fun, though.

Considering that, until this March, I haven't posted or visited these forums since my summer as an IT intern 2 years and some odd months ago, I'm gonna have to say no...

Your IP addresses say otherwise Gyrene.
