BK Whoppers will be 55 cents when you purchase one at regular price. Dec 6 to Dec 9. this is my birthday gift to you

ohhh.

Whoppers are great every now and then (and if you go to a good BK). 55 cents for the 2nd? wohoo! i can go on a date!

/cheapass

Indeed - that's what McDonalds has done in the past. 29 cent hamburgers and whatnot.

i remember when they would do 15 cent cheesburgers and 10 cent hamburgers. They would also do 2 quarterpounder or big macs for $2 all the time too.

man i miss those days. getting a bag full of cheeseburgers lol

SunnyD, that stinks, and you have every right to be upset. I mean, my kids would be ticked if they got a special coupon every year, and it suddenly stopped. It was not only the coupon, it was a special 'me and daddy' time for them. Sure you can keep going there for the birthdays, but it's just no the same, all because the restaurant is being cheap.

And, if I can soapbox for a moment, this is how companies (restaurants here) kill themselves. They think "oh, we are not doing well. Must need to raise our prices and get rid of the coupons." It's like it never occurs to them they must be doing something wrong.

The one good thing about a recession, in my mind, is that companies who act this way can get out of the way of those that actually care. I know, there are plenty out there that still don't, but maybe it will become more of an even match.

A few bucks more? It's the principle of the deal regarding my wallet and customer/business loyalty. The company took away a nice perk and replaced it with higher prices and, well... crap.

My kids are older now anyway so their tastes may have changed, but we'll still do something. Maybe still this, or maybe, as I said since we'd be paying full price - go somewhere with much better food for the money.

You admitted to only eating there for the free burgers but claimed you were a customer because you paid for drinks. They don't owe you shit, to be honest.

You weren't a real customer..they owe you nothing. You were just gaming the system.

I bet their most loyal customers get free food that isnt cupcakes.

I admitted being cheap.

I also admitted going on other occasions (yes, usually armed with coupons for a free appetizer or something of the sort).

I also admitted that when I went with my kids on their birthdays I not only bought drinks but also a full priced entree for myself as well.

And lastly, I never claimed they OWED me anything. I simply stated that this change in their program/policy sucks.

I bet their most loyal customers are stupid fat idiots who drive M3's and hit on the waitresses while their wife sits right across the table from them. But that's neither here nor there, now is it.

Yes you said that and then complained about your family tradition of gaming Ruby Tuesday to treat your kids was ruined.

You never said they owed you anything..but you acted like you were entitled to that coupon because you signed your whole family up for the birthday program. Perhaps others in the program are just like you and RT settled for just giving you guys free cupcakes.

Then there was that thing about you still complaining about the free cupcakes.

With my birthday rolling around, I usually take mine and either go with my wife or just myself on lunch one day. So today I look at the coupon, and nope, not a free burger. They changed the offer to a "FREE* Blondie or two of their Gourmet Cupcakes" (which are really like half-sized cupcakes). The asterisk denotes "free, with adult entree purchase."

Yup, the free lunch is over. As is my annual birthday tradition with the kids. Sucks.

It sounds to me like you feel you were entitled to a burger. 🙄 Now, you want to pick another restaurant because you have established that you can get "better food" for the money you now have to spend.

Hook, line and sinker. 😎

And since I know you're all gonna say it: /entitlement mentality, /firstworldproblems, /whatever

u admit being cheap. so how much tip do u typically leave? 8%?

Since you ask, I generally tip 15-20% pretty much anywhere I go that has wait service unless the service is absolutely horrendous.

And since you ask, I typically tip on the price of the bill that would be BEFORE any coupons are deducted.
