I have used the Duron for many builds and all I can say is, Farewell to a true workhorse that has served me well! R.I.P. Duron :(

It's a shame, what a great overclockers chip (specially the non-Morgan). Lately it has been obvious that the latest Morgan version didn't have a high frequency ceiling (1.2-1.3GHz) and its demise or complete re-design was already writen in the wall IMHO...

Heck, T-birds are getting pretty cheap now; they are probably going to essentially replace the market that the Duron held.

T-Birds on a 133mhz fsb run a little hot to be a value processor. I could see it being a value processor on a 100mhz FSB, but my guess is that the T-Birds will be phased out sooner or later as well.

The article states that the Athlon will be the budget CPU and as to it's being phased out like the Duron, it only stands to reason since that is the fate of all CPU's.
