Well 1070 is crap, but AMD dont have any card copeting with 1070.NV have monopoly and i was on intel HD 530.

AMD should reduce price of Air Fury to 200USD.I would buy FURY then even if its slower, but i would wait on FURY Untill vega.

Because it is on new node it should be way faster than 980TI.Its just cut too much.
Look at GTX670 vs 680 on last node shrink(970 was not node shrink).GTX670 destroyed GTX580 by 20% and oc 10-15% above GTX680.
1070 is crap card compare to others x70 cards.

Yeah but the difference in price at launch between the 670 and 680 was $100. The difference between the 1070 and 1080 is like $200-250.

Yeah thats how MONOPOLY works=Overprice GTX1080, cut down 1070 to the point to be crap but its still overpriced at 400-450USD, but it looks like good deal vs 700USD 1080.
NV won customers lose.

I am typically close to 60fps (have limit set to 90). It does hitch now and then, and they say they will have a fix for that soon. Maybe these hitches are dragging the average way down.

But unless SMAA uses a TON of GPU power, these graphs seem off. I have an RX480 Nitro+ arriving today and will test with it.

Hoo boy.... Talk about an absolute swing and miss here. I might take a look at this game once it's heavily discounted in a year or so, and once it's been completely patched up. Otherwise, I'm skipping it.

Nothing new really, these tests aren't good for anything but relative performance between cards. In the real world people tweak settings, my R9 280 will run GTA V at 60 FPS and 1080p with most all settings maxed, AA and grass are really the only things turned down and it still looks fantastic.

You are making the wrong comparison. The 1070 compares to the 980 in that scenario. The 980ti, was 2 step ups from the previous generation's 970. And the 1070 is handily beating the 980. You have to use the 1080 vs the 980ti to get a comparable jump.

If the product was crap, return it.

The GTX 670 was not a mid ranged card. It was the 2nd best 600 series card. It was the 2nd best for a year. I will agree that it was a very good card compared to the GTX 680. Of course, in the new world order, you could consider the GTX 1070 to be more like the 660ti of the GTX 670's day.

The GTX 1070 is hardly crap. It might not be as spectacular as you hoped, but it is a good performer.

1 year later, after refreshed process. I get what you are saying in terms of uarch, but the 680 was the fastest card until the Titan showed, and later the 780ti. As far as the consumer is concerned, and what is available to purchase, you have the wrong comparison.

But let's go ahead and look at it your way. It's still an excellent card, and hardly "crap".

Reviews have been awful on this title. Apparently the most overhyped game of the year. Snoozefest of collecting crap and staring at a flying space ship.

The devs made it very clear that this is a niche game and people cannot expect a space COD or Star Citizen. This is an extremely slow paced, contemplative game. People just jump on everything thinking they will see fireworks every 2 seconds. This is more a work of art than a video game but gamers have yet to grasp that notion of art in the title.

Definately is based on nVIDIA DLLs since it also seems that has a LOT of problems on the PS4 and AMD based GPUs. A very badly implemented game.. and they should have done in the traiditional way: nVIDIA exclusive.

Intel HD 530 is not ideal for 1440p you know + RX480 is pretty much same as GTX970 1500/8000-card that i have last 2 years.
When NV have monopoly you dont have much choice.You must buy even bad card.

It was my mistake.I shouldn't sell GTX970.I didnt expect NV will cut GTX1070 so much.I was expecting worst case scenario like GTX970 vs 980 around 10-20% gap at same clock.Not 25-30% we have now with GTX1070 vs 1080.

Ya right cherry picking benchmarks is not how it works. I might as well show you one where 1070 is only 10% slower but that achieves nothing. The chart I showed you includes numbers from both NMS and Deus Ex.

We know max OC 980Ti slightly edges max OC 1070 but not enough to make up for older architecture and less VRAM which will likely play a bigger role in future.

If you are gonna bring in max OC 980Ti then that reduces the 1080's value as well. It is also important to note that most of the best 980Ti cards had a ludicrous premium over reference which is not the case with 1070 or 1080. Max OC reference 980Ti does NOT beat any max OC 1070.
