So, why was it PC owners aren't getting a version of Madden this year again? Oh, yes, of course. Piracy. EA Sports boss Peter Moore explains: Piracy's a big issue on the PC. I can't turn a blind eye to the fact that it's very difficult for us...and we lose money making a game. At some point, I have an obligation not to bring out products that lose money. OK, developers, we get the idea. Piracy is an issue with the PC games market. It's also obviously a new trend, and has in no way been affecting the market for, oh, the last 20 years, so we believe your excuse wholeheartedly.

Here's my theory.
1) They couldn't make a port for the PC that gamers would actually buy. This is supported by the fact that all the previous PC versions of Madden were crap with only half ass game pad support.
2) They say gamers prefer to play sports games on consoles, but when you make crappy ports of course they're gamers are going to run to consoles. EA wants PC gaming to fail because PC gamer want innovative and new titles, EA would rather make money off cookie cutter titles they can hawk on consoles while creating a monopoly on genres so buyers will have no other choice but buy their games.

Is it a wonder why EA has such a bad reputation?

Thank you for participating in the forums, but this topic is already in progress here.

We get it for the PC next year

Madden 05/06 for the PC was crap? I know they were ports but didn't they play just like their console brothers?

No baseball, now no football. Guess I'll be using my PS3 for gaming more and more as time goes on.

meh, i agree. PC sucks and has always sucked for sports games. and Piracy is an issue that has gotten much bigger recently and much easier to do. Torrents/broadband have made stealing a game very easy. IMO it was a good decision by EA, the PC isnt worth the time and money to develop for when part of the user base is just gonna steal it anyway.

did that fix that glitch where the stats or menu would just stack on itself till it covered the entire screen?

lol i dunno if they fixed that but they better have, and that was like NCAA 06 or 07. they just need to not rush their game for once and take time to make it decent. just a lack of effort on their part

Rush their game? It's the same game they released last year with different names and different numbers slapped on the backs of the jerseys.

I never understood why people bothered buying all the new versions. It seems so pointless.

(In regards to the thread title)

I think it's because the PC crowd isn't stupid enough to buy EA's bullshit products.

some little things are different, and the big thing this year is the online leagues thing. Also it might seem the same to people who dont play, but there are substantial improvements/additions from time to time. and by rush I mean that they have from the beginning of 1 season to the start of another, basically a year, to make a AAA sports game. If they weren't building off of previous madden code the game would take longer.
