I'm pretty sure it means physically cut the entire box top off and send it (or a copy if it says copy). Thats what I did anyway for the previous sale

First off, thanks op! I hopped on this deal.

Secondly, for those of you that purchased this keyboard, is the 'n' key more noisy than the rest of the keys for you? It looks like the left side of the 'n' key is rubbing against the middle divider. It happens a little bit with 'y' and 'h' as well, but most noticeable with the 'n'. Other than that minor annoyance, it is an awesome keyboard. (I may just pop the key off and take a file to it...)

I've had that problem with my previous 4000 keyboard except it was a 'b' key. It would get stuck on the middle divider almost half of the time. I ended up returning it because I didn't think it was worth $60 back then. My new one doesn't have a problem like that at all. I would definitely go return it.

No problem here. Exchange the keyboard if it is still new.

One slight problem. I snagged the last one available at my Circuit City. I'd much rather the keyboard than store credit for $35. I'm open to any other suggestions though.

Yeah... I picked up the last keyboard at Staples too. You can call Microsoft and they'll most likely send you a new keyboard. You'll have to spend like 20minutes or so with someone from India though. "technical diagnosis" or whatever they call it.

Just wait till they get more in stock... I think you have 30 days to exchange it at place of purchase. Usually says on the back of the receipt.

Should be back in stock within two weeks, or sooner. The MSFT website shows the following specs for this keyboard:

QWERTY key life (what is this?)...1,000,000 actuations per key (infinite life for the engineering geeks)

Zoom Slider Life...250,000 actuations in either direction

Hot Key Life...500,000 actuations per key

Media Key Life...500,000 actuations per key

So if the keyboard should fail during your lifetime, contact MSFT and ask for a replacement based on these specs.
