No LED on Antec Case

I'm on my second Antec Mid-Tower ATX case after taking the first one back to Fry's. (By the way, why does anyone go there? What a miserable experience, and their prices overall are not that great. For example, I now know I could have gotten the same case at Best Buy for $10 less, without having to deal with the ex-cons or whoever they have working at Fry's.) Anyway, I took the first one back because the Pwr and HDD LED lights didn't light, but guess what--they don't work on the second one, either. After being without a machine for 2 weeks, I'm so fed up that I'm willing to live with it, because everything else works. My question is, why would the LEDs fail? Could it be the motherboard connections? If it is the motherboard (EpoX 8KTA2), should I be concerned about any other possible failures? It's working OK so far. Has anyone ever had this problem? Thanks in advance for your help.

I am thoroughly convinced Frys buys seconds. Say for instance the manufacturers dies are recommended as good to make 100 units, Fry's gets units 101-125. Ever notice all the white returns stickers on 80% of the boxes? That means that the case you returned is probably the case someone bought off the shelf the next day :D. I hate the customer service, especially in the computer department. Ill bet the "test" for the computer department is as follows Q: did you take science in high school? (YES=PASS, NO=Maybie). Q: did you get a D- or better in science? (YES=PASS, No=Maybie) If the applicant got a C or better they are automatically promoted to some kind of supervisory position in computers.

I bought several mother boards I think it was six, all were bad except the sixth. Why did I go there? I dont know. I dont go there anymore for computer parts or much else for that matter.

Isnt it strange Frys does not have a web site ALTHOUGH there are several sites complaining about Frys??????

Oh well enough wining, you are not the only one who has gotten crap from Frys and neither one of us will be the last.:)

I can't agree more I have given strict orders to everyone I know that if I ever set foot in Fry's again they are to shoot me in the head. Their customer service is the absolute worst and trying to buy something and get out of the store is like an obstacle course.

Although one good thing about Frys. They taught me that on line shopping is a good thing. I read on another post that people are getting 5V colored LEDs to replace the stock ones on their case. If you know how to solder you might give that a try.

You sure you have the plugs plugged in the right way? Was just building my comp, and the lights didn't come on because I plugged them in upside down on the mobo... have you tried plugging them in upside down? Even if the directions tell you to do it the other way... had a similar problem with something else one time. It kept telling me to put a connection in a certain way in the book, and it wouldn't work, so out of frustration I plugged it in backwards and it worked.

BTW Fry's does have a website now. Not that it tells you what's on sale, but they do have a site.

As far as LED's go you can contact Customer Service and they can get a replacement set sent out to you. That way at least you can find out if it's the LED's or not.

1-888-542-6832

If you get the voicemail, you can just leave the case model that you have, that you need the LED's for it, and your address.

Frys finally got a web page......

Run a search on LEDs see what comes up. One responder even gave the part number from Radio Shack.

Thanks, everyone. I did connect them the way the manual told me, but maybe I'll try upside-down. If that doesn't work I'll try getting replacements from Antec.
