No keyboard/mouse support in DSL

I just installed DSL onto a flash drive of mine, and it works fine, except once i get to the desktop, my mouse and keyboard no longer work. The cursor wont move and i cant do anything. Anyone know how to fix this?
 
If your BIOS has an option for "USB legacy mode" or something similar, enabling that ought to do the trick.
