Did you install the drivers for your network adapter? Windows XP has built in drivers for some adapters, but most of the time I have to manually download the appropriate drivers to a USB drive on a different computer then move the USB drive to the new computer and install the driver before the computer can access the Internet and other network resources.

Hi,

You can check the issue that you have for your router not getting connected to the Internet. You could check if it is a configuration issue or a Internet Service Provider issues. If you have a configuration issue, you would need to configure your router. IF you are not connected to the Internet or if you have any issues with your ISP, you can contact your ISP to get the issues fixed.

what does "IPCONFIG /ALL" show in a Command Prompt window?

Displays the full TCP/IP configuration for all adapters. Without this parameter, ipconfig displays only the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway values for each adapter. Adapters can represent physical interfaces, such as installed network adapters, or logical interfaces, such as dial-up connections.

I think he's asking the OP to give us the output of this command.
