No input connecting monitor to gpu

Going to wait till tomorrow and buy an optical drive to install OS. I think this is a driver issue, does anyone agree? Hopefully that will fix the problem.

Drivers are not an issue until the OS is installed. Which operating system are you installing?

If I looked up your card correctly, it looks like it uses two 6-pin PCI-E power connectors, so disregard my comment about swapping cables unless you PSU comes with more than 2. Is this your card?

Sorry I didn't fully address this earlier. During the initial boot process (when you first turn it on), only the port the cable is plugged into will be sending a signal (based on what I have seen), so if you switch ports while the computer is on (in the BIOS, for example), the connection you switch to is probably not going to be sending a signal.
 
I guess if you load windows then you'll at least be able to see if windows detects the card. If it does then it's some uEFI setting that you'll have to figure out.

No luck installing it with USB. Went out and bought an ASUS optical drive, http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16827135204

I plug in the ata power and ata date cables, open the drive, but my windows 8 in and its not recognized. Says there is nothing to boot from and tells me to set up in the bios, but I have no clue where to change the boot priority to DVD drive in my bios.

Just to give you a quick answer, both of your issues (usb and dvd drive) are related to the boot options menu. Your manual will tell you right where that is located. You will be able to selet the order in which the motherboard looks for bootable media.

If you can't find it by the time we get back, I'll look up your board and help you out (I bet you'll find it though).

Nah. USB issue was different. It let me load windows 8, I typed in product code, but then said it couldn't find where to load it from.

I'll try and find it now, i'll get back to you if I can't
 
Just downloaded the manual. Looks like you want to go to BIOS Features tab from the main menu, then look at Boot Option Priorities. You will set the boot order in number order, so since you want it to boot from the DVD drive, you would want to set that to first, hard drive second.

The next section, Hard Drive/CD/DVD ROM Drive/Floppy Drive/Network Device BBS Priorities, is not something you need to worry about unless you are using multiple hard drives, DVD drives, etc.

While in the BIOS, go to the System section at the top and click "ATA Port Information" to make sure your hard drive is being detected.

Then you should just have to save and exit, and it should boot from the DVD now.

I just took this picture, this is what mine looks like. I cannot click on boot option priorities, and theres nothing listed. and this is on the bios features tab

Edit: Also the optical drive turns on, the light is green, it opens/closes but it doesn't spin. I assume that's because I didn't set the priority? I plugged in the Serial SATA cable and another sata cable, the serial ata is already plugged somewhere in my case by itself and the other SATA cable is plugged into my PSU where it's labeled "Sata"
 
Sometimes when you boot up, depending on the motherboard, you can hold down F12 or some other key then the boot menu selection will show up. It will then give you options to boot to various things. (Usually in a corner of the screen: Press X for Boot Menu/Options) Consult the manual?

Most of your questions could be answered by consulting the manual. Also, if your graphics card has two 6-pin power connectors... you should have two 6-pin connectors from the PSU going into them.

When I hold f12 and the boot menu selection shows up, no options are listed other than "Setup bios" or something like that. And on my graphics, there is 2 power connectors but on my PSU I have one plugged into the plug labeled "PSU" and beside that is the same 6 pin power connector plug but labeled "CPU", I don't think I plug the second one into that do I?

OK, you might want to take a look at "Access Level" in the System menu:
Displays the current access level depending on the type of password protection used. (If no password is set, the default will display as Administrator.) The Administrator level allows you to make changes to all BIOS settings; the User level only allows you to make changes to certain BIOS settings but not all.

The only thing I can think is that they have moved this option since the initial release, when they printed the document. What BIOS version do you have?

You might want to start a thread in the Motherboards forum on this specific issue. I am sure there are others using that board.
 
I assume hard drive and optical drive isn't being recognized because I plugged in my USB and boot option 1 shows up, saying Kingston USB drive
