How can I make the Marine's armer and weapon more powerful in a game of melee. For example if I want to change the weapon damage from 6 to 12 how do I do that?

Only UMS can change the attributes of the units "out of spec". You can't change it in "Melee" or any other game aside from Use Map Settings.

If you want to upgrade damage in a regular game, you have to research the upgrades at the Engineering Bay.
