No Harddrive Detected

Greetings,

I just built a new system:

ASUS P5Q Deluxe
Intel Core 2 Duo E8600
EVGA GTX 285 (factory overclocked version)
2 X 2GB OCZ Platnium 6400
Silverstone Decathalon 800W

But in BIOS, it says no Harddrive detected. I have the SATA cable plugged into the motherboard, and the SATA power cable from the PSU plugged in.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

So you dont list the hard drive as a new part is it new as well?

Have you tried a different SATA port/cable?
Do you have another hard drive you can install for testing?
Do you have another computer you can install problem hard drive to see it it works?

if you can hear the hard drive spinning up, i'm putting my money on something wrong with your bios settings. might want to try reading that mobo manual.

of course it's not impossible the HDD was DOA.

Been lots of DOA HDDs and drives diying young in a past few months..

You are using the Red sata ports not the orange and white sata-e ports correct???
