No good deed goes unpunished...

So I am walking through my local Vons to pick up a few items. I am walking to where I need to go, I pass by an elderly lady who is ranting about where the water is. As I pass by her, I can see that she just passed by the water.

So I interrupt her rant and kindly tell here that she just passed the water. She thanks me and is very appreciative.

I get my things and head up to the express checkout. The water lady is in front of me. She thanks me again and even offers for me to go in front of her. She has 3 items and I have 4. I decline...

For the life of her, she cannot opperate the little debit card machine at the checkout. :| First she has trouble swiping the card then she just sits there oblivious to the fact you have to punch in your pin. Once she realizes this, she decides she doesn't want to use her debit card and pulls out her credit card. Even though she just did it, she still can't figure out how to swipe her card. She completely obliterated the point of the express checkout. 🙁

You were nice to an old lady. She was nice back. It was the right thing to do, you should feel good about it.🙂

Same thing when driving. Allow an someone to cut in front of you and they end up driving slow as hell.

I am no longer nice to people when driving.

Perhaps she was aware she was going to have trouble and therefore offered you to go first. You didnt accept, you're fault😉

Here's a little old lady who can't even find water in the water aisle...

Hehe, I know....my fault. 🙁

To be fair, there is no entire aisle of water...but you'd conclude it was with the rest of the beverages. 😉

Ouch, waiting behind someone slow in the check-out line is one of the worst things in life! 😛

Seriously though, I seem to have a knack for picking the line will hvae some kind of problem:

? CC won't work so the cashier has to call manager to override transaction
? Extra coupons that machine won't take so cashier has to call manager to override transaction
? Iitem won't scan so cashier has to call mananger...well you get the point.

I hope you learned your lesson, Mr. Nice Guy.

I did, avoid talking to the elderly at all costs... 😉

Nah, it's "avoid lines with old ladies". I've ahered to it for years. 😀

(it's not anybody's "fault", they're just older therefore slower)

u shoulda let darwinsm take its course. no use in having the elderly drag down the rest of the productive members of society
