No gas in AZ!

I noticed that gas prices were increasing, but I had no idea that we're completely out of gas in AZ! My brother called me tonight to tell me, so we went out looking to fill up, and all the stations have signs up that say "Out of gas". Apparently, a main pipeline broke, and it's gonna be a while before they can get it fixed. Both my wife's car and mine are on E. So we can't even drive around looking for a station with gas. Not sure how we're going to get to work.

Well, I wasn't completely empty, until we started driving around looking for a station with gas. Apparently, we're the only ones in the state that wasn't aware. Everyone we know already knew about this.

haha that sucks...one time the gas station i went to was out...but there were other ones around.

Yes there is no gas. I drove around all day looking for it and finally found a station with a line that wasn't too long. I'm sure they will bring more gas in from somewhere until the pipeline gets fixed but I expect high prices and long lines until then.

Gas prices surging of late, $2 a gallon in my location. But its just too damn hot to ride bike to work. 100F+ is just too much.

If the supply chain of fuel ever stopped for any lengthy ammount of time, the US would probably implode.

If the supply chain of ANYTHING ever stopped for even a short amount of time we'd have problems. Such is the drawback of the at-the-last-minute inventory systems most stores use.

It seems more likely that we would have problems with fuel since it isn't much of a "domestic" product, though.

After checking two stations, I ran out of gas today in Chandler, AZ. I went with a friend and a gas can looking for gas for my car, and out of about 15 we went by, 2 were open and they both had huge lines. I got enough gas out of people in my neighborhood to get it back to my house eventually. Now my engine is choking on 1/8 of a tank of 87 octane. To add insult to injury my battery died today also, so I had to shell out $120 for a new battery. It was a long day.
