This reminds me of an article I read at MSN the other day.

Yup.

I thought the water usually comes out of the same fountain that the coke does, they just don't carbonate or mix in the syrup.

Is there something that magically cleans the water that is in the coke you drink?

I wouldn't know, I don't drink their coke either.

In celebration of former President Clinton's successful bypass surgery, I went to McDonald's for a double quarter pounder w/ cheese today. 😀

While waiting for my food I overhear a conversation between the cashier and this high school kid:

kid: I want [blah blah blah] and a cup of ice water please.
cashier: We have bottled water.
kid: I'd just like water in a cup with ice.
cashier: We have bottled water.
kid: But I like ice with my water.
cashier: We can give you a cup with ice and you can put the bottled water in it.

At this point I got my food and headed out the door. The soda fountains in this McDonald's are behind the counter.

I understand that McDonald's is in the money making business, but this seems a little stupid. :frown:

This McDonald's is in Camarillo, CA, at the Pleasant Valley exit.

-------------------

Cliff's Notes: McDonald's won't give kid a free cup of water.

Ojai (your neighbor) is the same.:disgust:

One time at Wendy's I ordered a bunch of food and a Biggie water, only to find out later that I got charged $.50 for it :| They could have at least told me what was coming so I could lube up before I got raped.

Wouldn't have worked at the BK at our local mall. They do the same thing. I was behind a guy a month or so ago and he just wanted water. The cashier told him they couldn't dispense water to customers. He ended up paying like $1.75 I think it was for a bottle of Deer Park water. He mumbled and grumbled the whole time, but he still ended up buying it. And that's what they bank on. Whether or not they still do that I don't know. Granted this was in the sweltering heat of August, so it may just be a "seasonal item." 🙂

I am not buying bottled water at McDs, and if they don't give me a free cup of tap water, I won't be buying anything there. So they'll save 5 cents on cup, lose $1 profit on the stuff I won't buy.
And guess what, If they have free lemons for the tea, I am going to make free lemonade in my free water cup 🙂
