I have an ABIT-ST6RAID and my 10.8GB UATA66 hard-drive has DMA enabled and so does my Memorex 48x CD-ROM (UATA33) but I can't enable DMA on the big drive? Any ideas?

Thanks.

Are you using Via 4-in-1 drivers? Some of the version have big problems with enabling UDMA for hard drives.. If you recently upgraded to the latest version, try to roll back driver to the previous version.

I'm having the same problem with the UDMA setting for my hardrive as well. You can check out my lengthy post here.. Maybe you can give us more details.

Andrey, the ABIT-VH6T uses a Via chipset; the ABIT-ST6/ST6RAID uses Intel's 815EP chip.

I see I'm not the only one here having DMA problems. I guess we'll have to wait for the next BIOS update of an improvement in Intel's .inf file.

try setting DMA mode 5 in your bios - i know this worked for SIS735 based boards which couldn't activate DMA properly.
