no display when computer is turned on

Had a problem last night when my computer stopped responding. Hit the reset button, and when my computer got to the windows loading screen I would get a BSOD at which point it would automatically restart.

I tried removing my RAM one at a time but that didn't do a difference.

NOW however, when I turn on my computer all I get is a blank screen. Motherboard does not beep at all. Currently I have disconnected everything off of the board (sound card, video card, hard drives) but still nothing.

here are my specs:

Asus A8N-E
3800+ San Diego
Corsair 1gb x2 XMS RAM

does the monitor work? it probably does if you are getting something like "no signal".

otherwise the motherboard's probably dead or the power supply.

monitor was working just fine before any of this happened. i don't get a 'no signal' error though.

however i have to note that when i turn on the computer the standard motherboard beep, as it's POSTing, does not happen.

is there any way for me to test the power supply with a multi meter to see if it's dead? like i said the fans are all turning and hard drives are on, but nothing happens.

seems like the motherboard's fine. you can try two things. if the motherboard has an onboard video card, remove the other video card and try to boot it up. or you can try another hard drive.

but most likely, you have a faulty power supply.
