No Control Panel

I have Windows XP Pro and whenever I try opening Control Panel, I get an error saying that Windows Explorer has encountered a problem. I spent some time searching at the microsoft site and also online and haven't found anything. It happens when I try to open it from the start menu and also when I try and open it from my computer. It is really pissing me off and I don't know why it's happening. If anyone could help me it'd be greatly appreciated.

I've already tried that and it didn't work. I ultimatly deleted my user account since it was broken anyways so I made a new account and it said that it was missing a file or something, would this mean that I would need to repair windows?

Backup whatever files that you need. And you can try a System Restore. go back a couple days to when you knew it was working. If that fails, you can still do a 'Repair Windows'. I would opt the System Restore first though.

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

Good luck!
