During work i received an urgent phone call.

Idiot, "Hi I'm calling to report there is some kind of gas filling up my office"
Me, "I see"
Idiot, "I'm feeling dizzy and nauseous...... what should i do"
Me... thinking to myself 'what an idiot', "sir i recommend evacuating until i send someone to check it out"
Idiot, "OK if you think that is the best thing.. thx for your help"

I swear some people got no common sense!!!!:disgust:

Should have told him to stay put and make sure it doesn't go away until somebody gets there to check it out.

If he had to call you in order to fix the problem and didn't have another way of calling, I don't see what the problem is.

getting to another phone shouldn't be an issue. what i observed when i got to his office and his surrounding areas was that there were phones on almost every corner and in every office in that building

Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't sit in a room filling with gas for very long. I would get out, then tell somebody what's going on.

My thought process: "GAS DETECTED. Good gas/bad gas? Sample Analyzed - Bad Gas. Course of action determined - activate self preservation subroutine: EXIT IMMEDIATELY. System check nominal. Couse of action determined - alert others of gas."

But that's just me... My brain is a neural net processor, a learning computer.

That is nothing. When my mom used to work 911 dispatch people would call from inside their houses to report that they were on fire.

For the record i don't work in 911 dispatch. The guy that called was obviously an idiot. Not knowing what to do when there is gas building up in your office is just plain stupid. Any person with common sense would head out the door and call from somewhere else. Especially if you start feeling dizzy. It wasn't a prank call also because I actually when to his office myself instead of sending one of my workers. Turns out that his office was near a loading area for big truck that make deliveries and the not so smart deliver driver didn't read the big huge sign that says to turn off your engines immediately when parked. Solution to his problem was to open his windows and let it air out. So if he was of normal intelligence the gas must have killed a million brain cells because if it was you or I we would be outside chatting waiting for it to air out..... extra breaks are always welcomed.
