I have a soudblaster live MP3+, and its worked great in the past and now the cd audio wont play, ive tried winamp and some other programs. they all say he musi is playing but is get no sound... I just added a little heatsink to the EMUK chip and I dont think I messed anything up b\c everything else is working great. I have the analog hookup connected, I'd try the spdif but i dont have the cable.. please tell me she's ok.

what's a bump?
did it all of a sudden ... not work?
did you check the connection from the cd to the sound card?
did you check to see if the cd digital and the cd analog are not mute and that the volume is up enough to here? plug headfones into your cd rom and see if you could hear music...

Do you have Liveware 3 installed?
If you do go to the Surround Mixer and check if CD Audio is Enabled there, the same thing happened to me and that's how I fixed it.

Peace,
Nore

a HS on a soundcard. NOW i've heard everything.....

you sure you're plugged in the cdaudio for the soundcard and not the TAD input? And check any settings in volume that show cdaudio muted.

I had a sound card that kept tunring the cd volume down to zero. Didn't mute it. Just dropped the cd volume. Check your volume controls. And when did it stop working? the very next time that you booted after adding the fan? is it possible that you knocked the cable loose?

Ok I added the HS b\c the chip would burn my hand when i was checking the temps in my case.. i rarely use cd music but its a pain im gonna try liveware3..

the volume is on in windows (nothing muted) and all cables are correctly connected..

anyone know if there is something I could have broken (specific part) or would that wreck the whole card?? ill keep trying things.. thanks for the help

OK OK, thanks for all the help, liveware3 works, but there is a sligh probelem does winamp support 4 speakers, its seems to only play out of the 2nd channel i looke to change the setings but souldnt do anything?

maybe the cdaudio cable is bad. try one that u know works.

btw, sb live don't need a HS. it gets hot, but nothing'll fry. otherwise they'd include a 50cent HS in factory.

winamp should work with 5 speakers...and 4...did you enable 4 speakers in the audio hq speakers setting?
