I wanted to switch over to mATX from my ATX mobo and full tower, so I bought an Asus P5Q-EM for my E6600, EVGA 8800GT, and 4gb of OCZ RAM. But once I put everything together and flipped the switch, I got no display except for once. That was with the PSU out of the case, so I switched it off and tried again, but nothing ever again. The video card fan spins up to full speed, but never slows down like it's supposed to.
I transferred everything back to the old mobo and it worked fine.
I thought I damaged the Asus, so I went and bought an Intel DG45ID, which I just spent hours and hours assembling, thanks to some small form factor hassles. Of course, when I switch it on, I get the exact same thing... video card fan spins at full speed and nothing works.
Anyone have any idea WTF is going on?
