No Boot Situation on ASUS PK5-E

I changed the processor in my ASUS PK5-E motherboard from an E4500 dual core to a Q6600 Quad Core. I had some programs that did not work correctly when I installed the new CPU. As a result, I put the old CPU back in and the computer would not boot. The fan would run for a few seconds then stop and then come back on again and stay. I put the quad core back in and still the same thing, no boot. The Green LED is on and there were no error beeps on boot. I got no screen boot text and no activity lights on my memory modules. I am assuming the MB is fried but I hope I am wrong. Is there a hard reset or something I can try to get this thing to boot or am I SOL?

The board was originally designed with this chip. I probably should have reset the bios before I installed the CPU. THe motherboard is dead now so its a moot point. It won't boot with either chip.

It gave me a message the first time saying new CPU was installed and sent me to the bios. I got into trouble trying to go back to the dual core CPU and that is when it did not boot. Both CPUs work in another motherboard.

hmmm, that sucks... i was happy with my P5K-E board until i needed an extra PCI slot and had to change.... i don't want to let go of it, but good luck on getting a new on one

Yes I did try at least one CPU after the BIOS reset. The board is on its way to ASUS. I am upgrading the board in my main machine to a P5Q and will use the P5K-E board to make an HTPC for the bedroom.
