I don't get an official bonus but I'm lucky that my boss takes us out for lunch at least🙂

Same here, got a nice dinner out for the Christmas bonus.

I might sound rude, but bonuses are called bonuses for a reason. Not everyone is guaranteed one and its up to the employer to decide if they want to reward their employees. I doubt anywhere on your contract or any paperwork, that states you are guaranteed a bonus.

we get jack... anything you do get is just goodwill... don't be expecting it.

Same here, its not sweat though, I've milked the company for enough OT that it makes up for it.

i agree. i have heard so many people at work stress out over their bonus because they expect it or depend on it. They seem to be of the entitlement variety, as if the bonus is salary.

it's called bonus for a reason.

A bonus is a acknoledgement of a good job all year long---A simple card or gesture is all that would take if need be---By the way my evaluation for the year was top notch--another guy just got fired today....That's totally bogus!

Well then nobody get official corporate bonuses unless you win an award. Other then that the only bonuses are provided directly by management.

shouldn't the fact you have the job and they pay you be bonus enough?

I'm tickled to death to work for the companyi work for, and get paid what i do for doing what i do. I am glad everyday that my desk is still there, and my job is still mine.

I'm even more happy that while i have been out for 9 weeks on disability, i still got my yearly bonus, my 5 year bonus, and my salary. I thank my company every day, and even if i would not have gotten the bonus, my continued employment is incentive enough.

I don't think anybody EXPECTS it.

It's just that when the company is obviously doing well, it's nice to get. And not getting one in such a situation....is a little perturbing. Not world-ending by any account, but, still....it's a nice gesture.

Me, I got no bonus. No card, no nothing. Meh. Least we got raises this year, that was a refreshing change.

Man, getting fired the week before Christmas sucks ass.

No bonus for us this year either. I've been with the company five years and we've recieved one every single year with the exception of one really really down year. The best part is that this year is by far the best year the company has had while I've been there. Quite possibly for a few years longer than that even. Nice to know you're appreciated

bonuses are often incentives for workers to stay at their job. if you are unhappy (and it seems like you are), leave. it's not like they're convincing you to remain satisfied at the job anyway.

Boss: "computerchaos, no bonus this year"
computerchaos: "But Sir, what of Tiny Tim?"
Bass: "Him and his ukulele shall go wanting."
