My brother started to play halo, when it crashed and the computer froze. so he restarted it. since then the monitor light stays orange, and never goes green. maybe twice have we been able to get the computer to display anything on the monitor and then it wont pass the first bios bootup screen. any ideas?????
I "need to fix this before" I "go back to school" according to the mom, which happens tomorrow mornign so pleaaaaaaase throw out ideas.... thanks!!!!

mski

ps. also, the two or so times that it did display anything, the bios read out something similar to cmos batt low, and cmos memory size error.... the MB is brand new as of christmas, so the batt shouldnt be low... its a shuttle or soltek board i believe, a 33$ older athlonxp board from newegg with a 2100+ athlonxp on it.....

try resetting the m/b,

also pull out cmos battery for a couple of minutes....

pull out and reinstall video card / memory / cpu.

Could be you were lucky it worked, and something was loosely installed and luckily worked for a few weeks.

Good luck,

your bios might have gotten corrupted. I have no clue how, but you may have to send the board back. Otherwise, make sure your processor is seated correctly, has enough thermal paste. Also, try running your computer out of the case on a cardboard box. You might have screwed it in too tightly in one area, causing a short of the mobo. If it works when its fully assembled onto a piece of cardboard, then when you put it back in the case, use the least amount of mounting screws as you safely can.
