Definitely a matter of taste. I think those wheels look great with that color...

NICE ride OP! :)

Thanks!

What I will say about the wheel choice, after seeing lots of "green with envy" dodge challengers is that while black wheels work well with a green like that, they change the look of a car entirely. More than you'd think they would. That's why I went with silver. I wanted the brighter look.

To the guy talking about the color: That picture was taken with a DSLR that captures the color better than a cell phone pic, or a low end picture might.

That said, the more light there is, the better the color looks. At night, it does look *very* dark green, and you can't see the metal flake in the paint. It is definitely a color asking for the sunshine. I like the color in all lights, but I can see how it might be a matter of personal taste in a darker environment.

How is the interior? Does it stack up closer to a Porsche?

Porsche non-contact surface leather is better (that is, things like the dash, etc, that you don't typically touch all the time). I have the highest end package. I would call it below the Porsche interiors, but one that you don't have to say "well, sure, the interior is crap, but look at the performance!" The interior is good, but come on... The Porsche interiors are.... Well, you know.

I agree with the one reviewer's statement of "no excuses". My GT500 was an excuses car. "Sure, it's a $20k body design, but look at that engine and the speed!". This car is the whole package.

I can concur on the green looking very dark in dim environments, the one I saw in the showroom looked almost black from across the room.

Nice color though, and the painted silver is better than the polished that was on the one I saw.

Color is phenomenal. The green is unique, without being obnoxious. :)

My Blue Z was similar, where it was very bright in the light and very dark in low-light. I really liked the contrast, and would think this is similar.

Awesome, just awesome car.

i'm glad you went with the silver wheels. Dark wheels with low light to me just make the car kind of blah like. Like I said, the color imho is great when there is alot of light. Its just night night it fads to black (from the pics I've seen, no real life yet)

But I have alot of respect for people that choose cars with actual color. (IE Not black, white, silver, or some blend of those which is like 80-90% of cars today).

And I'd take the vette any day, no matter the color.

So, now that you've had it a few days.....no regrets dropping the Shelby?

Unfair comparison IMO. A loaded 911 tips the scales at 150K US. Heck, a loaded Boxster can reach 100K US. Audi/Porsche make the best interiors in the business.

Wasn't meant to be a knock on the car, especially coming from a guy that's owned a good amount of GM performance vehicles. Just wanted a point of reference on a production version of the C7.

My 991 S was $127k + tax, and about the only options I bought were performance related (and leather sport seats). But even the base interior is quite nice.

Reminds me of one of my old coworkers:

2001 Focus
2003 Altims 3.5 SE
2004 GTO 5.7L
2005 GTO 6.0L
2006 C6 Corvette
2008 CTS every option + pearl paint
Added a 2008 Corvette with Z51 Package
Trades in both:
2008 CTS-V Sedan
2010 Honda CR-Z
CRZ lasts 1-week
2010 Corvette GS
Added 2010/11 Lincoln MKX
2011 BMW M3
2012 CTS-V Coupe

Next car will be Jaguar F-Type, 2014 CTS V Sport, 2014 Corvette

Single, no kids and no plans to ever be married. Enjoyed his $200 jeans and cars.

Sounds like a financial disaster.

No way

Porsche interiors are bleh and Audi USED to make the best interiors. In the 2000s they decided to follow BMW theme and ruin their interiors (maybe it's just my opinion) but their interior design is just ugly, I'm sorry.

That's just plain-old bias. I really like the new `vette interior, it's a serious step up from the C6, it still isn't in the same league as the Carrera, WRT fit/finish and ergonomics (not to mention material quality).
