No audio (TV) with ATI Wonder VE card

As the title says, I get no audio at all while in TV mode...everything else seems to work OK...tried both the 7.1 and 7.6 beta drivers. Running XP Pro, GeForce3 Ti200 with the 29.42 drivers, and SoundBlaster Audigy X-Gamer (look under "Systems", Vic's HotRod in my signiture for more info). ATI's site does not reference any specific audio issues, and I did a search on this forum with no luck.

I have audio with all other programs.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Vic

Peter,

Yes, it's connected properly to the line-in on the sound card...unless that cable is bad...will check that out...thanks.

Anyone else????

Did you run the setup wizard and test all your audio inputs (auxilary, line-in, microphone)?

Figured it out...Had to use the CD, then manually upgrade each driver with the 7.6 beta's...got sound and video now, but if I close the program and try to re-open the TV tuner, no good...I have to reboot....very quirky set-up/card.

Thanks all.

Well yes, practically each and every piece of Windows software shipping with all those PCI TV cards sucks beyond description. This is particularly embarassing for ATi who have such an excellent TV viewing application for their All-in-Wonder cards.

But anyway, there is third-party free software out there, mostly based on the Linux efforts on getting those cards to work. Since the ATi PCI TV card is based on the most usual TV chip series, the Conexant/Brooktree BT 848/878/878A/879, you can use that as an alternative.

regards, Peter

Got a link to the driver page(s)...I'm having a hard time finding those drivers...thanks.

Actually, this card sucks and I do NOT recommend it at all:|

As Peter indicated the software tends to suck with Ati tv cards. Its inexcusable, really. After spending hours trying to get the ati software to work I gave up and tried third party software. I've used dscalar since december 2001 on my xp machine and it has worked beautifully. Don't have a link though I'm sure you can easily find one.

🙂😉

I've looked all over for these "dscalar" drivers, or whatever else will work...can someone provide a link or something for this ATI Wonder VE card for Windows XP Pro...this is frustrating...this card driver support SUCKS...I'm ready to take it back.

Any help appreciated...thanks.
