no alcohol after minor surgery?

It's not just the blood-thinning one has to worry about. Anesthesia is hard on the kidneys and liver. Also perocet is often prescribed and being it's combined with tylenol; also bad for the kidneys/liver.

I drink a lot. I cut out all alcohol for a little over a week after surgery (10 days). I only took two of my percocets, and was only 'twilighted'; but didn't want to take chances.

I also didnt drink for a week leading up to the surgery.
