No 8-pin GPU connector

I have an older PCP&C psu

It doesn't have the newer gpu connectors would it still be ok to use this psu with the dongles that come with the gpu to power it or would an upgrade to one that comes standard be better?

If your current GPU came with 6pin to 8pin adapters. Since your PSU has 1000w and 72A on a single rail you should be able to get away with it. But posting more details about your computer system and GPU. Would help us in giving better answers for you.

I have the Exact same PSU and am running a GTX280 off it. I picked up a 6 pin to 8 pin adapter off ebay and run the card at 684/1456/1165 daily. It works fine. I would imagine the adapter that is 8 pin to two molex's would be fine as well.
