Ugh...more of neoPTLD...
dude, we get the freakin point.....we don't care anymore.
Good job w/ the enforcing the law business but we don't need to read about it more than once or twice.

It's a little funny. The last thread hasn't even cooled down yet, and here we go again.
BTW, I'm all for you calling it in. It's a matter of public safety, keeping the hydrant both accessible, and readily visible to any crew that might need to spot the nearest hydrant right now.

While you're out there, cover the hydrant in gasoline or oil and set it on fire.
How would they put it out?!?!?
Sorry.![]()

That sucks, dude... you should put a sign up identifying the sign and stating that the police will be called if someone parks in front of it.
I support you in what you're doing - I think it's the right thing to do.

the question is: Do you or do you not pleasure yourself as the cops arrive, or do you wait for the tow truck to start pulling the car away?

Dont worry about the hydrant...the fire department has no trouble getting to it even if there is a car in the way. They have tools that can either break the windows to gain access, or some have devices that can remove the entire hood of a car. Fire hydrants are perfectly good parking spots, no need to let them go to waste when there is no fire.

Hmmmmm. Guess I'll have to post my video footage of Dave (NeoPTLD).
Agreed. If someone blocked a hydrant in my neighborhood, I would first try to find the person and ask them to move their car. If I couldn't locate them, I would also call it in, but it's hardly worth a thread in OT, let alone two.Originally posted by: NogginBoink
Tools or not, when my house is on fire, I want the fire dept. to have complete unrestricted access to the nearest fire hydrant. There is a need to let these "perfectly good parking spots go to waste." Which is why we have laws about parking in front of fire hydrants.

Week 1: some idiot blocked a hydrant, I called the cops, they were cited.
Week 2: same as above, except two vehicles were involved and they were towed after I called in.
This week: There's a vehicle parked yet again and I am about to call it in.
I sure hope I don't have to call the police every Friday night when I get home :|
