just a dump question, which device should I get to share 1 speaker set across 4 PCs (all PCs are sharing keyboard/mouse through a KVM). Thanks.

that may be the new price. i picked up THIS week's target ad off the floor tonight and saw that they have/had it for $44.88. hope bb does it also so i can use coupon

This week's BB shows Neverwinter for $39.99, btw.

Wolverive88,
I have used this setup similar with 6 pc's shared throught a KVM, I just bought 5 Stereo extension cords with 1/8" male jacks on both ends and ran the audio out connection from one PC to the audio in of another PC, and so on until I got to the last PC with the speakers attached to the audio out. The sound gets passed through the sound cards and eventually makes its way to the speakers. Kinda cheesy but it works. I'd be interested to hear if such a device exists that would do the same thing.

The new Belkin KVM for about $110 will share 4 computers and includes connections for microphone and speaker so you can get sound from all computers.

Went to Emeryville B&M today and they cock-blocked me on the Santa Cruz/Z540 deal! They were trying to charge me $159 even when I showed them the ad. Maybe I will go back and try again, they had a lot in stock.

Update: I went back today after talking with the manager over the phone and he agreed it was $80 for the bundle. This time the items scanned to $80 total. When I got home, my friend saw my sweet deal and I had to drive him there to get him a set! Geez I spent an hour commuting back and forth today but it was worth it.

159 is what the z560 would cost with $40 off... that was my probelm...

dew.

I went in this morning as soon as the store opened and they only had 1 on the shelf (speakers) so I grabbed it the corner of the box was all crushed was kinda bummed, but found couple more in back of store. they had plenty of sound cards.
when I went to pay it rang up as 160.00 so the cashier voided the speakers and changed the price to a penny😀
so I paid 80 for the 2 instead of 79.98 as per the ad. Thanks for the Tip!

Btw: I'm selling the card in For Sale/Trade 😉

Same here... manager finally showed up and told the cashier to take $40 off of each item.

>Santa Cruz/Z540 deal

Detroit store:

I took the (opened) Santa Cruz back that I bought last week and asked for credit on the $80 total deal. The clerk couldn't have been nicer. He scrutinized the part numbers and the ad thoroughly. They had to refund the old deal because both had to show up on the same receipt for the prices to come up right. Until the computer sorts it out, there is 79.99 for each on the display, but at the end the price changes to 39.99 for each. Maybe its the same for the web site, cause all they have is 79.99 for each in the "advertised specials". You'd never know there was a combo deal.

If there had been a hassle, my plan was this: Go ahead and buy another Santa Cruz with a Z540. Take the unopened Santa Cruz and return it using the 49.99 receipt for the opened one. Seems fair to me, but unnecessarily complicated.

There were a lot of Santa Cruzes.
5 Z540s stacked on the floor where you might not look.

There was one more of the 60G drives left. Some guy saw me looking at the sign, and about knocked me down to get what he thought was the last one. (probably an Anandtech lifer.) There were two more on a different shelf, so I got one. Yeah, they were Maxtor, DMA133, liquid bearing and 3 year warrantee.

i pick one up today too...total comes up to be $86.59
when i bring them to the casher, she wants to charge me $180+. i said where is $80 instant rebate and she said there is no instant rebate....WTF. finally, she went to check with the other person and gave me $80 instant rebate. only 3 z540 left but one is open and lot of tbsc
and i am goin to return this new tbsc with my old receipt......don't want to pay 15% open box fee...

compusa sell Z560 for $199 so don't think they will sell both for $79.99. otherwise, it's a great deal

yeah, be sure to point out the deal in the weekly ad. the cashier charged me wrongly, cus she didn't know about the deal. i then had to wait in line for half an hour before i got my money back.

bought it at 59th street compusa in NYC.

cost was

79.98 bundle
6.60 tax +
--------------------------

$86.59 total

they had around four more sets of speakers when i was there, and a full shelf of santa cruz's. i just installed everything, and am pretty pleased with what i got.

Cashier did the same thing to me to with the bundle. I told him it was in the ad, so he slowly walks and gets the ad. I tell him it on the back but no, he has to look at the whole ad page by page. Then he finally sees it on the bottom and then he goes to and office for at least five minutes. Then after a few more minutes of typing in codes, he finally gets it right. I also got two of the TDK CD packs, $1 for 10 including cases after a $5 MIR.

i dont care if the hard drive is a rebadged wal-mart brand or something. 83 cents per gig is scorching. might have to pick me one up, 120gb of storage space is sounding pretty sweet to me....

I picked up on this Santa Cruz/Z540 deal, i was also charged $160 at first, and after about 10 minutes explaining to the cashier and manager it was $80 for the two I got it. They were nice about it though, not a$$holes like some places can be....*ahem* Best Buy....

Santa Cruz/Z-540 deal gets better?

The bundle now shows up in my cart for $61.02. I paid $80.71 total (only tax-free, ship-free is better 🙂). You must add to cart to get the lower price, I guess.

Scored one at Duluth Store in Georgia, 2 Z-540 and about 5 TBSC left there. Sold the TBSC for $65 and sold my free AVS300 speaker for $15.... with taxes and paypal fee, I only paid $10. hehe $10 for Z-540 is pretty sweet deal for me. Btw where in the ad is the PCI card on?

Btw where in the ad is the PCI card on?

I couldn't find it in the ad. My Compusa had PNY 16meg PCI Vanta cards for 29.99 - 20 MIR = 9.99 -- I think. They had a sign that said as advertised I think.

How long does this deal last? Is it dead? I really would like a set of those speakers and TB Santa Cruz. 😀
